Griselda Pollock: 'A Nameless Artist in the Theatre of Memory'

The School of Art History is delighted to announce that this year's O.E Saunders Memorial Lecture proudly welcomes leading postcolonial feminist theorist, Griselda Pollock. The talk will be about Berlin born artist, Charlotte Salomon (1917-1943), who was murdered at aged 26 in Auschwtiz. Salomon's unique artwork, created from 784 paintings, entitled 'Life? or Theatre?', will be discussed during the lecture; where Pollock will be analysing the themes of memory, historical commentary, violence and gender in relation to Salomon's work, artistic career and the politics of her times.

A reception will take place afterwards in Lower College Hall, St Salvator's Quad.
